Situation

Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited is a New Zealand multinational dairy co-operative owned by around 10,500 New Zealand farmers.
Fonterra was embarking on a large scale SAP Implementation project. A number of risks were identified – in particular, low business process maturity, low capability in chosen toolsets
The previous service provider had failed to deliver the required business process, ARIS and SAP Solution Manager capabilities
Leonardo was engaged to provide thought leadership, team leadership and expert skills in the areas of Business Process Management, Enterprise Architecture, and to establish an Office of Business Process Management to govern the use of the various “process” tools

Developed business process architecture
Established an Office of BPM, with ongoing responsibility for the management of the business process architecture, modelling standards, business process discovery and documentation approach, change management approach
Established the ARIS Centre of Excellence, with responsibility for the management of the ARIS tool, implementation of model standards, application of model quality framework, Release Cycle Management, content management
Establish an Enterprise Application Architecture management approach based on the ARIS repository
Developed and implemented ARIS and SAP Solution Manager integration approach
Various “As-Is” business process discovery and documentation projects
Provided general ARIS education and capability uplift to client and contractor staff
