ProcessDays 2009 is Making Impact. Dates Confirmed:
3-6 August 2009 |
|
Riding
high on the recent success of ProcessDays 2008, plans for the 2009
events are well underway. 2009 we will be focusing on how BPM is
'Making Impact' around the world. Case studies from Australia and
overseas will highlight the potential, and demonstrate the
practical benefits, of the process view. The 2009 program is being
designed to reflect actual requirements from 2008 delegates with
more case studies and a flexible format with early and late
sessions for those who can't make whole days.
The Sydney Masonic Centre will play host to the 2009 event from
3-6th of August. Unlike most traditional conference centres the SMC
is regarded as one of Sydney's most architecturally significant
buildings with a variety of interesting spaces for the two days of
Master Classes and two days of Conference in 2009.
What will ProcessDays offer you in 2009?
VALUE: For delegates this is the lowest cost BPM event in
Australasia.
LEADERSHIP: We'll have more gurus per square metre than any other
conference on the planet.
INNOVATION: Not just PowerPoint and talking heads but a mix of
formats and innovative format.
LEARNING: Mixed format, length and variety of topics enhance
learning opportunities for everyone.
COLLABORATION: The ProcessDays tribe continues to talk well beyond
the 4 days of the event.

Delivering Permanent, Positive Change |
|
process-oriented
training, documentation, knowledge and change management
Some people say that ?Change would be easy if it wasn't for the
people!?. The reality is that change is impossible without the
people. Trained, empowered people are the real agents of change.
They make business systems work; they deal with operational
problems; ultimately they decide whether changes are worth the
effort. In complex application development and business process
modelling we too often lose sight of the importance of training,
documentation and knowledge management in the achievement of
effective change. Knowledge, skills and behaviour changes are a
prerequisite for effective organisational change.
Leonardo Consulting will support you in the development of an
effective change management program based on process-oriented training,
documentation and knowledge management.

I've Been Thinking About... Basketball, Butcher
Shops and Hotels |
|
I've been
thinking about basketball, butcher shops and hotels. These thoughts
unexpectedly coalesced as I stood in my nephew's shop in Regina,
Saskatchewan, Canada. Butcher's Best is no ordinary butcher shop as
evidenced by the constant stream of customers queued out the door and
the energy and enthusiasm with which the three staff work all day
to engage, entertain and serve the customers. A lot like Fish! with
meat and without the throwing (1).
Paul Harmon has been recently thinking and writing about 'service
processes' as opposed to 'manufacturing processes'. You can read
his thoughts at the BPTrends website (www.bptrends.com). This
difference is important. It can inhibit process thinking for those
who are in the business of service delivery and find no resonance
in stories about efficient manufacturing processes. If I'm running
a hotel, what do I care about how cleverly Toyota makes cars?
